Information on diplomatic authentication
- Diplomatic authentication is issued by the consul in the form of a clause placed on or attached to the document. It certifies that the stamp and signature on the document are genuine, and in compliance with the stamp and signature sample held by the mission.

- The Consulate of the Embassy of Hungary in Cairo can only provide diplomatic authentication on documents from countries belonging to its consular district. Before submission to the Hungarian Embassy, all documents should have the necessary diplomatic authentication clause issued by the Consular Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the relevant country.
- Consular Districts of the Embassy include the following countries: Egypt, Eritrea, Chad, Eritrea, South Sudan and Sudan.
- Due to the current conflict in Sudan, the consulate is unable to carry out any authentication on documents coming from Sudan until the normalization of the situation in the country.
- Attention! A Hungarian diplomatic authentication clause cannot be provided by the Embassy of Hungary in Cairo on any kind of Yemeni documents with Egyptian diplomatic authentication.

- Applicants must prove their identity with a passport or a Hungarian identity card.
