Applicants with a Hungarian background have the chance to visit Hungary and to participate in inspiring short-term courses and community activities with the Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship in the summer of 2026. The opportunity will allow them to gain experiences and impressions of our country and awaken their interest in a longer-term period of study in Hungary.
What applicants can expect?
Engaging Courses: Students can choose from a variety of courses at leading Hungarian universities, ranging from Hungarian language lessons to specialized thematic classes, all lasting 1 to 4 weeks.
Community Connections: Applicants can make new friendships with fellow diaspora students and peers from all around the world, creating a unique and diverse community.
Hungarian Cultural Programs: Participants can immerse themselves in Hungarian culture through exciting social activities, from sightseeing tours to dance classes, while discovering the cultural gems of Hungary’s iconic cities.

Eligibility:
Open to all applicants of Hungarian descent residing in the diaspora outside of the European Union, the Republic of Serbia and the Zakarpattia Oblast of Ukraine.
Current Diaspora scholarship holders may apply if their previous scholarship status concludes before the chosen Summer University Course. Similarly, applications are welcomed from those students too who plan to apply within the other type of Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship Call for Applications, launched this November.
